Located south of Rabat, in the municipality of Harhoura, Contrebandiers Beach is one of the region’s most popular seaside destinations. Easily accessible from the coastal road leading to Casablanca, this fine sandy beach appeals for its family-friendly atmosphere and facilities tailored to summer visitors. The beach’s evocative name refers to its historical past, when smugglers used its secluded coves for their activities. Today, it offers an ideal setting for swimming, beach games, and seaside walks. Nearby, the Smugglers’ Cave, located about 250 meters southeast of the cove, is a site of geological and historical interest, bearing witness to human occupation since prehistoric times.
