Bab Rouah
Bab Rouah is one of the oldest and most imposing gates in Rabat. Built in the 12th century during the Almohad dynasty, it was part of the city’s defensive ramparts. Its massive structure and refined architectural details bear witness to the military and aesthetic artistry of the period. Today, Bab Rouah has been converted into an art gallery, becoming a major cultural space in Rabat. It regularly hosts contemporary art exhibitions, highlighting the richness of Moroccan creativity. This contrast between historical heritage and modern artistic expression makes it a unique place, where past and present interact harmoniously. Located not far from the Parliament and the capital’s main boulevards, Bab Rouah is an essential cultural stop for lovers of history, architecture, and art.
